Purple with some green pinfire, this is Australian opal cut in old type way - between oval and rectangle. It is an elegant and affordable option for such a large stone. Can be set in any type of jewellery.

Please note that my camera is picking up more blue tones than it's visible with human eye - this opal is more purple than blue.
