Brazilian Opals
Brazilian opals are found in North Eastern Brazil and are closely related to Australian crystal opals, sometimes causing confusion.
Opals from Brazil have a low water content, making them hard and stable and they frequently display layers and stripes.
They are unique and beautiful crystal opals that can be recognized by their pastel colors.
There isn't an abundance of good Brazilian opal rough available, as mining has never been large-scale and opal veins have been largely depleted.
